Recording channel breakdown:

Note Cable and Harness pricing below, reflect our high quality shielded, positive lock quick connectors, pre-wired from the factory.  Less expensive harness cables and connectors are available, but are not recommended.

bullet RPM and MPH Breakout Cable:

The yellow wire is used for connecting to the Engine RPM connection on the vehicle (i.e. ignition coil, wire leading to tachometer, or Tach out terminal on MSD etc.). The other lead is pre-wired for connecting to One (1) MPH, Wheel or Driveshaft Sensor.  $49.

Switch/timer break-out cable
( used to connect up to 4 on/off switch and Lap timer circuits) includes 2 10ft. extension cables $99

Up to 4 Switches can be measured using this harness. Examples of switch inputs include; items like brake switch, throttle switch, trans brake, clutch actuators, nitrous switch and other on/off inputs

This cable also is used to connect and supply power to the optional Automatic Lap Timing System.

Automatic Infra-Red Lap Timing Option: (note this is NOT a required option as lap times can be entered after the data is downloaded.) This is a VERY high quality system, this timing system will automatically insert lap times into the data logger. Lap Times are important to allow the software to do segment analysis, track mapping as well as many of the other functions. This system includes a high quality, long distance, 3 eye Beacon for the side of the track, as well as an on car reciever, harness and interface module for the data acquisition system. It costs $299 complete and is viewed at left. This Lap Timing system does NOT need to have a driver display to automatically enter lap times. Dash Displays like the one seen in the lower left image can be added if needed. Dash displays do not enhance the ability of the data logger, but does give the driver ability to see their lap times and other engine data. See note below.

NOTE: Buyer Beware! Most comparably priced data loggers DO NOT have 12 bit Analog resolution. The analog resolution of a data logger determines the systems accuracy. Most are ONLY 8 or 10 bit. This may not sound like a big difference but a 10 bit system is 4 times less accurate, while a 8 bit system is 8 times less accurate, and needless to say the components to build them cost much less. This is commonly overlooked when purchasing a system. Accuracy is extremely important for many sensors, especially suspension travel. The Ultimate 30 Data Acquisition system provides the professional accuracy needed for dependable data collection.
